Abby Palen (they/them/theirs) is an award winning creative storyteller. Raised in Kentucky, they have traveled and studied across the country. From crafting puppets in Vermont to keeping bees in Alaska, there's a story in every place they've been. Being present in these stories, and searching out more experience is the backbone of their artistic work. Trained in both acting and art, they have a varied body of artistic work spanning from crafting puppets, to directing, to event curation. Acting credits include Liz in Our Country’s Good, Socrates the Spider in Cinderella, and Bev in Clyborne Park. Puppet Design includes Demons in Spooky Dreamland, EDNA in Moving the Mountain, Sunshine Lady in GLOW Cincinnati, and Cat's Pajamas in FOUND; Windows of Wonder. Abby has devised multiple toured shows for national fringe festivals, including Staged and Moving the Mountain. Training includes an acting BFA degree from the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music, working as an Apprentice to the Bread and Puppet Theatre Company, and working with The Paperhand Puppet Intervention (beginning May 2022).
